About

02 about

When I was a young girl, I remember looking forward to my mother's next issue of Country Living magazine.  I would thumb to the back where two small examples of home plans for purchase always resided.  I would examine them, analyzing their layouts and functionality, imagining how my family would live in that floor plan.  Since I loved sketching, I also studied the details and illustration style of the exterior renderings. Thus began my passion for home design and interior spaces.

Throughout my myriad interests, the common threads have been forms of creativity, communication, and expression.  I have always loved the fine, performing, and functional arts.  Whether sketching portraits, singing and dancing for local theatre, making jewelry, crocheting, or designing and sewing my own decorative pillows - the transformation of ideas and emotions into something tangible was truly fulfilling.  Enriching and expanding upon these interests, I attended UC Berkeley and majored in Mass Communications and minored in both Linguistics and Theatre Art Production, the latter of which included set and costume design.

The UC Berkeley Extension Interior Design and Interior Architecture program presented a new pathway that was to be the perfect synthesis of my innate interests and skills.  Upon completing this accredited program, I joined the team at ScavulloDesign.  For nearly seven years, I managed and designed for residential interior architecture and furnishing projects in San Francisco, the Peninsula, and Central Coast.  I was honored to be a part of the design team for the SF Decorator Showcase 2012 Dining Room, and conceived the idea of multiple, overlapping tables for a whimsical, unconventional, and flexible dining layout.  I also spearheaded the firm's program to host Breakthrough SF Career Day - a deeply rewarding opportunity to share knowledge and passion for interior design with underprivileged youth who are on the path to college.

After taking time off to spend with my newborn son, I returned as a consultant to several prominent interior designers and architects.  While my focus has been residential design, I have also worked on several commercial projects, including a boutique hair salon and a frame gallery/dispensary for an optometric office.  I am currently engaged in long-standing consulting relationships with two Bay Area design/architectural firms.  I also oversee projects for wonderful personal clients.  It has been immensely gratifying to assist my clients in creating artfully curated homes tailored to their personalities and lifestyles.
